Earth ball

Dhawun Buru

Pronounced thu-wun Boo-roo

A piece of Country to hold close—wherever life takes you.

Dhawun Buru (Earth Ball) is the name of the earth piece I make — a unique, hand-crafted sphere made from earth collected from Country. A meaningful piece that honours a person’s connection to the lands of their birth, family, or tribal lineage.

Inspired by the Japanese art of dorodango balls, each piece transforms soil into a polished, sculptural form for display. More than an object, it is a tangible reminder of home: of the land that holds memory, identity, family, and belonging.

Each Dhawun Buru is personal. The earth used in its creation carries the story of the place it comes from, making every piece one of a kind.
